A Short Note
I am home from my Monday morning work, volunteering at the Crossroads Food Bank. On my way to my car, I stopped to talk to a nice police officer, who was finishing some notes he needed to make. My family used to live in the house that was converted into the conference room/police rest area, and food bank. It is strange the topics that come up while visiting.
We talked about my schools, spelling, reading speeds, and colleges. It ended up talking about my writing. I gave him a card to introduce him to my substack.com site. I asked him if he had kids, so I told him I had some poems about squirrels and spiders.
On the serious side, I mentioned my habit of praying for police, firefighters, and ambulance drivers. The Bible teaches that all should respect authority and that we have a responsibility to obey them. It would make their work easier if everyone obeyed rather than argued.
I said this would be a short note, so I will close with an encouragement to us all to remember ot obey those in authority over us. It wouldn’t hurt any of us to pray for them and their safety as well.

I agree, Larry. We should consistently pray for those who run toward the trouble when the rest of us are running away.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.
