Abate

Abate is a good word, or it can be a bad word.

As we grow or mature as Jesus' followers, our participation in sin will abate or decrease in amount, which is what God would expect of us.

We would not expect our love of Christ to abate or diminish.

Can you see that the results would be quite different?

What is abating in your life? What will God think of it?

Some years, just for fun, I went to the dictionary and picked some short words to write about. God’s thoughts toward us can change with the use of short words. What we do with them is crucial. Obey is a short word. God cares what you do with it.
