Cat and Mouse
Here it is, after eleven o’clock PM. My cat doesn’t want to come in for the night. He is out playing “Cat and Mouse.” It is a warm evening, and I saw it all there in the driveway where my car was parked. The outside porch light was on, so I was given the front row seat where I saw it all. I knew the cat was up to something as he kept going from wheel to wheel under the car, and then I also saw it, the small gray furry mouse, frightened to shivers, running from wheel to wheel, trying to hide. My cat, though bigger than the mouse, would give the mouse a head-start by looking away, letting the scared mouse make another run to “somewhere,” anywhere to hide from my cat’s tender paws. It seemed my cat wasn't interested in killing it, at least not right away. He was intent on playing with it. It became his plaything in the game of “Cat and Mouse.” He intended to be the winner of the game, but he didn’t want the game to be over in the first minute of the first quarter.
Here I am now at the computer, with the cat and mouse still outside playing their game. I decided I would come in and write my firsthand account of the first round of what had proceeded so far. Shortly, I’ll go outside again to see if there are any winners to this game. If he doesn’t have the mouse in his mouth, I will know that the mouse won by escaping while he wasn’t watching as closely as a hungry cat would have been. If I open the door and my cat jumps in with something in his mouth, I know he is the winner, holding his prize. He will be on his way to his food bowl, where he will deposit his prize, waiting for my signal to go ahead and start eating your feast. You played fair and square, giving the mouse a multitude of times to escape.
This is the first short article I have written in such a long time. I hope my writing spurts continue regularly.

That’s a really thoughtful story brother,it reminds me how even in simple things like watching a cat and mouse,we can see lessons about life.Sometimes we are like that mouse, running here and there, trying to hide from the troubles and pressures of this world, but just like the cat always knows where the mouse is,God always knows where we are David said in Psalm 139:7–8 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there 🙏 And even when life feels like a game of cat and mouse,God reminds us that we are not left alone or helpless, because Jesus said in John 10:10 The thief cometh not,but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly 💯 Sometimes the enemy wants to play with us,trap us,and destroy us,but Christ gives us strength and freedom As Paul said in Romans 8:37 Nay,in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us 🙌 So just like the mouse tries to escape,we too must run to our refuge, and that refuge is Christ alone Proverbs 18:10 says The name of the Lord is a strong tower the righteous runneth into it,and is safe ❤️ And brother,we are also a part of the Church of Christ in India standing firm in the same faith, following the same Lord, and proclaiming the same Gospel that unites us all across the world.
At a younger age I would not likely have been entertained by such a display. But now, I can watch such things for hours. Apparently, there are all kinds of impacts from the ageing process. SIGH ....
