This piece is not something I wrote earlier. It is now 9:35 AM on 7/23/2025. I just finished with my breakfast (a little later than usual) but as I was eating, I thought I would just write some and since I thought about it, here it is.
I usually have two fried eggs, a slice of bread with peanut butter and honey on it. I like the large round loaves of sour dough bread. They have a taste and texture I like. I even like the sometimes large holes (bubbles) in the slices. With this, I have a cup of cold milk.
But going back to my “getting up,” I slept in a little but to make that a little more definite, I was awaken by my cat, climbing on my bed, with him making bread on me with his two front paws, as usual. He was just telling me he was ready to go outside and play. It was a new day. It was about 7:30 AM today so I got up, went to the door and out he went. Sometimes he will just stand in the doorway and look outside but this time, out he went.
This is when I went to bed again, just to lie (lay) there to think about what I should do today. Some days I am on schedule to work (volunteer) at the food bank, but other days, I have to plan what I will do.
I had dug most of my two short rows of potatoes this past week and I wanted to make sure I had all the rocks out of the soil. But then, I had decided to dig a little deeper than I had before and see if the same kind of rocks was below the first shovel’s depth. (My computer turned off sometime in the night an my Grammerly program and spell checker is not working. Sorry.) I now have a trench about a foot wide, three feet long and three feet deep. The rocks there are different. Many are not the water-warn rounded rocks but the jagged “just broken” looking pieces.
It seems, in my mind at least, that they were brought in at a different time.
I want to grind into the surface of some of these to see what the insides looke like. I have been grinding, sanding, and polishing small windows in the other stones to be able to see what God had put in them. Very Interestng! Now I can look at the new rocks.
The problem with my thinking is, do I just continue digging or stop and do some sanding. I want to do both but I am only one person!
Anyway, that was what was going on while I was still in bed.
Of course, I am up now, have had my breakfast, and am at the commputer.
While I was eating beakfast, I thought I would tell about how I fixed my bread I mentioned earlier. I use my fork to get the peanut butter from the jar and then use the fork to spread it over the bread. This leaves “fork marks” over the bread. When the honey is not “sugared,” the fork marks keep the honey from flowing off the bread. It is not as messy that way.
Anyway, I have eaten the two fried eggs, the bread with peanut butter and honey, and my cup of milk. I am now doing what I thought I would do at that time, write something.
I am about through, because I want to get outside and either dig some more rocks out of the ground or grind on some of those that came up yesterday.
This is just a short glimps of a day living in Sam’s house. If you missed other writings of my activities, you will have to go back in the archives to read more of my adventures.
God bless and may your day show your kindness and love to others.
It would not have occurred to me to write a detailed account of my entrance to the day. I hope your day is/was simply wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
