Do Overs
There are no Do Overs in the game of Life.
When we were kids, there were always many Do-Overs. If it was our turn spinning a spinner for a board game and it did not seem to go how we wanted it to, we would call out "Do Over," and more than likely, we would get to spin again.
In the game of Life, there are no Do Overs. When we spin the spinner of Life's choices and make bad choices, there are no "Do Overs." That is, what we chose to do last year, last month, yesterday, or even a minute ago, there are no Do Overs. Whether we choose something good or something regrettable, we cannot decide to change what we did. We have to live with what we chose at that time. This is why the game of Life must be played by the rules.
You may say, "There is no Rule Book for the Game of Life."
Well, the Bible is one, and it is said to be the best-selling book in the USA.
One problem with this book, the rules for the game of Life, is that each person interprets them for their own good. It's like people are trying to have their own Do Over's or at least their own Do It My Way's. I guess there is a verse that speaks about "working out your own salvation." This may be what people are doing.
Another problem with this book being the rules for the game of Life is that many Bibles are purchased for "some other person" to read, hoping "it will do them some good."
Even though there are no "Do Over's" in the game of Life, there is a "Cover Up or Wash Away" in the game of Life. Because we will choose to do regrettable things, called sin, it is good to know that even though there are no "Do Over's," we can have a "Cover Up or Wash Away."
We allow God to do a miracle when we believe in Jesus, regret our regrettable ways, and let God perform a miracle by using Jesus' blood to Wash Away our regrets (sins) in baptism. We are now walking on the narrow road that leads to Life.
But we still sometimes miss God’s mark. When we again sin, our remorse brings us to God in prayer, asking for forgiveness. Because of God’s mercy and grace, God forgives when we ask for forgiveness.
When we follow these rules for the game of Life, we live like there is a "Do Over" in the game of Life.

So often I think that the regret for sin is to have to live with the consequences of our choices. If we better understood that our sin separates us from God, and if we truly desired an intimate relationship with the Father, the loss of relationship with God is perhaps the worst possible consequence of sin ... and yet perhaps the least of our considerations. If we are self-centered our remorse is the former. If we are God-centered, it is the latter.
