Do Over's
May I Spin Again?
Do Over’s
There are no Do-Overs in the game of Life.
Although when we were kids, there were always many do-overs. If it were our turn to spin a spinner in a board game and it didn't go the way we wanted, we would call out “Do Over,” and more than likely, we would get to spin again.
In the game of Life, there are no do-overs. When we spin the spinner of Life’s choices, and we make bad choices, there are no “Do Over’s.” That is, what we chose to do last year, last month, yesterday, or even a minute ago, there are no do-overs. Whether we choose something good or something regrettable, we cannot decide to change what we did. We have to live with what we chose at that time. This is why the game of Life must be played by the rules.
You may say, “There is no Rule Book for the Game of Life.”
Well, the Bible is one, and it is said to be the best-selling book in the USA.
One problem with this book is that it presents the rules for the game of Life, and each person interprets them for their own good. It’s like people are trying to have their own Do-Overs or at least their own Do It My Way’s. I guess there is a verse that speaks something about “working out your own salvation.” This may be what people are doing.
Another problem with this book is that the rules for the game of Life are that many Bibles are purchased for “some other person” to read, hoping “it will do them some good.”
Even though there are no “Do Over’s” in the game of Life, there is a “Cover Up or Wash Away” in the game of Life. Because we will choose to do regrettable things, called sin, it is good to know that even though there are no “Do Over’s,” we can have a “Cover Up or Wash Away.”
We allow God to work a miracle when we believe in Jesus, repent of our regrettable ways, and let God perform it by using Jesus’ blood to Wash Away our regrets (sins) in baptism. We are now walking on the narrow road that leads to Life.
But we will still, at times, miss God’s mark for us. When we again sin, our remorse will bring us to God in prayer, asking for forgiveness. Because of God’s mercy and grace, when we ask for forgiveness, God forgives.
When we follow these rules for the game of Life, we live like there is a “Do Over” in the game of Life.

I have found that through my mistakes and the subsequent pain, I learn something, and therefore do not repeat them ... usually.
Thanks again for sharing.
I like that innovative phrase "repent of our regrettable ways".
