Let Me Run Again: Just This Once. Let me run again, just this once Without falling to my knees. My Mother would coax me. Let me try again, just this once Came my tearful reply. Now, no Mother to watch me as I try Let me run again, just this once. Without skinned knee Or bleeding hand. I can’t ask for this just once more Let me run again, just this once Without falling to my knees. My walk is wobbly as slowly I go. Do I now hear my Mother still Coaxing me clear. Try this for me, just this once. Just one more step, or maybe two.

It was an emotional time while I wrote this poem. Where am I in my life at 85 years old.
This hit a chord with me--one of the things I miss most... BTW, I figured out the transcription tool- I reposted "A Warrior's Passing" to see how that works for you. Anything else you've tried to listen to but really needed text, let me know and I'll repost for you. Yakokee, james
