Life and Living and Death and Dying
Life and living are not always about life and living. Sometimes it is about death and dying. In the Bible, God says there is a "time to be born" and a "time to die." That means there is a time to start living life and a time to die or get ready to die. Being born is usually hard for the mother. There may always be some thought or fear of dying or the child dying. But as an older individual, the views are for yourself or your mate.
Dying is not something that usually happens, and it is over. A person may be middle-aged or retiring, but the thought of dying may not be strong in their mind. "I am healthy." "It will come later." We can have these thoughts periodically, and at some time, it will be the time.
What do we think about at times like these? Some may think - I am old and going to die - without a thought of "What then."
Some may take no view in "Where will I spend eternity"? These may not have knowledge of or an idea of eternity. These have not prepared for eternity by not living a life preparing for life – eternal life.
Jesus has the answers to help a person live a life with a desire for a heavenly eternity. Following his teachings is necessary, but starting with God's approval is vital. Jesus died as a sacrifice for our sins, and we need to use his blood shed in his death. We do this by having God forgive our sins by being baptized as Jesus commanded. (Acts Chapter 2) God forgives a person's sins when they repent because they trust in Jesus. God gives that person his Holy Spirit making him a child of God. Each baptized person is now born into the family of God.
We are now walking on the narrow road that leads to life. This part of our life is where we live. We carefully watch what we do, think, and even our motives, as we will meet God on His judgment day with all humanity. We must live ready so we can die prepared.
If you haven't done this, now is the time to choose - is it heaven or hell? God lets us choose and gives directions for either one.
