Life and Living
Part Nine
Life and living at its best is finding out who we are, knowing who made us like I am, and being joyfully satisfied with what I am.
But does that mean we'll be happy all the time?
You have heard that Life is like a "bed of roses."
Roses are lovely, but you also know that roses can have their share of thorns.
To receive the roses, we have to accept the thorns.
If we don’t, does this mean we are not working toward being the person God made us to be?
Not necessarily. But the thorns may be a trial of molding, so we will be more what God needs us to be to accomplish what God wants us to do.
Remember, the old, well-used saying "God is not finished with us yet" is true.
The thorns we seem to have may be trials God has provided to help us be more of the person God needs us to be – like being more patient.
We may even get to where we see that more wisdom might help us be what God wants us to be. (I need prayer for this.) So, as we are learning patience, we can also pray for wisdom. (Pray for me in the loss of my wife of 62 years.)
The first chapter of the book of James will help us with this Part Nine piece.
