Life and Living
Part Thirteen
If you have been following me through this series of Life and Living, you have noticed that I wrote a little about babies and children. You might not have any children yet, but you may have spent some time thinking about what you might say to help them be the kind of person you would like them to be.
I know a person who translated a Greek verse of the Bible into this English verse: Philippians 4:8.
It read: “Finally, brothers, give careful thought to these things: Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovable, whatever is commendable. If it is excellent, if it is praiseworthy, think about it.
I stopped typing as I read these words: "Give careful thought to these things."
How would I ever be able to teach a youngster all that is in this verse?
How would I teach what is true?
How would I teach what is noble?
How would I teach what is exemplary or pure or lovable or commendable, and it goes on and on?
To prepare for each of these, I would have to be living each of these so that I could teach by example.
Would Life and Living have to be different around here?
