Life and Living
Part Thirty-Four
Yesterday, I was “making fun” of those individuals who like to pollute their iced tea with sugar. I must be very careful how I proceed with anything like this. Making fun of people or their manners or habits can lead me to berating them and belittling them. Please forgive me if I wrote in such a way you felt uncomfortable with what I wrote.
Berating others does not show them the love that God wants me to have for my fellow citizens of the little round globe God made for us to all live on together. There is no way for them – those I might be teasing, to get away from me or hide their different manners or habits. God did not make a stairway to heaven for people to get away from other people who might be treating them meanly and not showing them the love of God.
So, if I have offended any of my readers, please forgive my thoughtless action in not showing my love for you instead of my feeling of superiority. It is only my choice compared to yours, and who am I to set the rules?
I wrote before that God has made each of us different. We each can have our own preferences. This is what pleases God.
There are many choices we can make since we all have our own free will to use.
What pleases God is for us to choose what He likes.
The things that God does not like are called sins by those who study what God does not like.
Right living might be given to the kind of life and living that God would rather we choose. He knows what we do anyway, whether it would be to his choosing or not.
I think it was many people instead of just one that was traveling across the USA and painting or putting up the “John 3:16” signs. This speaks of God’s love for us and his desire for us to follow him in a special way.
People who are given God's Spirit can be called "sons of God." When we have our earthly father's DNA, we know we are our Dad's child.
God isn't flesh and blood. He is only Spirit, so He gives us His Spirit when we are baptized for the forgiveness of our sins. (Acts 2:38)
But we have that choice, and that is part of Life and Living.
