Life and Living
Part Thirty-Five
I don’t ask many individuals if they are Christian. It usually shows in their Life and Living.
We are known by what we love. If what we love shows the excess pride we carry for people of position, people of power, or people of rank in the entertainment or sports field, we may be elevating them to idolhood. We may be worshiping them, or at least worshiping the ground they walk on.
Did that offend any of you? That’s just a question. I don't expect any answer, just another thought from me. How many of these people that you might have been holding so high, would give their Life for you? How many of these would encourage you and teach you to pray to your Heavenly Father. How many of them would be concerned about you if you were seeking the way that would please your Heavenly Father? Did I hear an answer of: "None of them". Your probably right.
This is why Jesus doesn't want you to put any hope in them. They are not the ones to come to for help or encouragement. They don't even know you. They don't even know you exist.
Jesus said, “Come unto me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”. Jesus is looking for those who are “down and out”. He is wanting someone to approach them (maybe even in this covid virus time – this time when we are to stay six feet from everyone. But that is close enough to talk to them. The least you could do would be to ask them if their group had lost their Bible in the last forced move they experienced.
Try to have a used large-print Bible ready to give to their group to read together or share from hour to hour during the day. (Some may have lost their glasses or need new ones.) Some may need the large print to be able to see the print plainly.
Love you neighbor as yourself. They may be your neighbor.
This may be how it is Living Life with the homeless.
