Part Forty-Four

The following “above all” verses are applied to all who want to follow Jesus and to all who claim to be following Jesus. Our example will prove whether we are a follower of Jesus or not.

Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

James 5:12 Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise, you will be condemned.

1 Peter 4:8 Above all, love each other deeply because love covers over a multitude of sins.

2 Peter 1:20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things.

2 Peter 3:3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days, scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.

(Will we be faithful to Jesus until the end of our lives? Above all, we should consider it worthwhile.)
