Life and Living
Part Forty–Nine
The seed planted in the thorn or thistle patch.
Matt 13:22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.
Do you remember what Jesus said about the rich after talking about the rich young man in Matthew 19?
In verse 23 it says: "Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven."
We can be thankful that we are not rich since we would not know whether or not we would have obeyed the gospel when we heard it.
That is thankful for Life and Living without the riches.

This is too short. I will have to make the next one longer.
Did I say it for you?
A scripter I have posted on the wall of my office is Proverbs 30:7-9, which goes as follows; Two things I ask of Thee, Do not refuse me before I die: Keep deception and lies far from me, give me neither poverty or riches; feed me with the food that is my portion, lest I be full and deny Thee and say, "Who is the Lord?" or lest I be in want and steal, and profane the name of my God.
