There seems to be a paradox between being constrained as a slave of sin but being free as a slave of Christ. However, any of us who have truly experienced the desire to be free from the chains of sin on our lives, also understand that those chains lead to death and destruction, while living only for Jesus leads to life and life everlasting. Either way we get to decide - and thus the question for each of us becomes if in our slavery we want to be free to die or free to live. It is still a bit of a mind bender; but begins to make sense when we are trying to do battle with evil and to serve God with our entire being.
