I am not an expert. When I taught math, usually algebra, I would jokingly ask students what an expert was. They would, of course, come up with a definition.
The answer I wanted was one connected to math.
I offered them some help so they would come up with the solution I wanted them to have.
Here is the way I proceeded.
What is an "X" in algebra?
What I was looking for, of course, was "AN UNKNOWN."
Excellent. Keep that in mind.
Now, in science, what is a "SPERT"?
A small amount of water under pressure often came up, and I said that was good.
So let's call it a "DRIP UNDER PRESSURE."
Great. Now, just put that all together. Your answers, please. What is an EXPERT?
In unison, the answer was: "AN UNKNOWN DRIP UNDER PRESSURE."
A little lightheartedness can lighten the day. So that might be good for our Life and Living message today.
Are you willing to be thought of as an “xpert?”
I am under pressure, but I am not unknown.
Thanks for reading.
Remember: If I think about it, there is a good chance I will post it.
