I am not an expert. When I taught math, usually algebra, I would jokingly ask students what an expert was. They would, of course, come up with a definition. The answer I wanted was one connected to math. I offered them some help so they would come up with the solution I wanted them to have. Here is the way I proceeded.
What is an "X" in algebra? What I was looking for, of course, was "AN UNKNOWN." Excellent, Keep that in mind.
Now, in science, what is a "SPERT"? A small amount of water under pressure often came up, and I said that was good.
So let's call it a "DRIP UNDER PRESSURE."
Great. Now just put that all together. Your answers, please. What is an EXPERT?
In unison, the answer was: "AN UNKNOWN DRIP UNDER PRESSURE."
