It Doesn't Take a Building to Worship

It's not Sunday, but worship anyway.

Many people consider Sunday the proper time for worship, especially between 9:00 and noon. But God has his eyes and ears open to worship any hour on any day.

Jesus told the woman at the well that there would be a day when worship wouldn't occur in her mountain or in Jerusalem but that everyone should worship God in spirit and truth.

We have heard of an angry-spirited person. That type of spirit offering worship won't get out of the room he sits in, even if it is in a cathedral.

The spirit Jesus was speaking of was our inner spirit or our attitude at that particular time. Our spirit or attitude must be one that God would accept. The same is true with the word truth. The truth Jesus is speaking of is any of the truth found in any of the precepts he taught.

A prayer to God is worship if our attitude is acceptable and what we request fits Jesus's teaching.

We can't pray for a friend to get a job while grudgingly hoping he doesn't get the one you want.

Any thanksgiving to God from a thankful heart is worship to God.

So, as we thank God for our daily blessings, God sees our grateful heart, and he considers it our worship to him.
